If UVic has a formal exchange agreement with your university, then you may be eligible to apply to come to UVic on exchange for one or two terms.
Step 1: Speak to an exchange advisor from your home university
Contact your home university's international exchange office and find out what steps you will need to follow in order to be approved or nominated for an exchange program at the University of Victoria.
Step 2: Submit your application form to UVic
The application deadline for students wishing to begin in either September or January is MAY 1 each year. Complete the Exchange Student Application Form and submit it along with a copy of your official transcript and two recent passport-style photographs. Submit your application form, transcript and photographs to:
International and Exchange Student Services (IESS)
PO Box 3025 STN CSC
Victoria, British Columbia
Canada V8W 3P2
Step 3: Wait for confirmation
When UVic has received your completed application form, the IESS exchange advisor will assess your application to determine if an admission package can be issued. This package will include your student number, a letter of admission and detailed information about immigration requirements, course registration procedures and housing options. The package will be mailed to you via your home university's international exchange office.
Step 4: Carefully read the Checklist for Students
Please read the Checklist for Students page carefully, to learn what you need to do to organize your immigration documents, travel plans, health insurance, housing and course registration in preparation for your exchange to UVic.
